There are 5 advanced chambers in this mod.  They are not very challenging but still quite fun.  I hope you took the time to go through them yourself before this, if not please do!

My next series of walkthroughs will be for Gamma Energy.

How to 1: Tossing a Delayed Portal

I plan on demonstrating a few basic techniques before attempting any advanced walkthroughs.  You will find in this short video an introduction to tossing a delayed portal.

Tossing a Delayed Portal will allow you to save time and reduce repeated tasks.

Task:

You have two raised platforms on either side of a wall.  You need a portal on platform A and platform B.  You neither have a line of sight to shoot a portal, nor anyway to get back up to platform A if you jump down and take a shot.

First lets examine our equipment:

When you pull the trigger on your standard issue portal device a concentrated mass of energy is expelled and understandably moves on a slow but constant vector.  Even if your portal device moves it will continue until it hits a solid surface.  Now once it hits that surface and only then will your previous portal be closed and opened a-new.

Now for the application:

  1. Find point C where A is still visible.
  2. Put a portal at point C and B.
  3. Goose the portal so that you are looking at point A and slowly move outward until your targeting reticule lights up.
  4. Now shoot a portal at point A and quickly move to side B of the portal.
